Where do I start?
SCORE is the best place to start. This is a free service offered to anyone in the Chamber to help you get your business plan and financial plan down on paper. Then you can focus your attention and finances in the right place at the right time and also track your businesses progress.
How does the Chamber help me to promote or develop my small business?
The Chamber has a number of networking opportunities that are perfect for finding new clients, business relationships and to get your business known in the Richardson community such as: Early Net, PM connections, LinkedIn, and the New Teachers Luncheon.
We can help you with career development through programs such as Richardson Young Professionals, Leadership Richardson and Women in Leadership. We also offer learning opportunities through the Small Business Round Table. The Small Business Round Table offers a high-quality educational program that provides cutting edge information and direct take-aways on the operation and management of a small business.
We also offer to have a Red Ribbon Cutting at the place of business of all new Chamber Members. This will include bringing Chamber Ambassadors, staff and city council members to your business at a time a date you select, taking photos of the ribbon cutting (these will be placed in our Newsletter which goes out to over 4,000 people) and giving you the opportunity to introduce yourself, your staff and tell everyone about what you do.
Our Shop Smart Shop Local marketing campaign has website-driven links to your website through our membership directory.
Does the Chamber offer any advertising opportunities for my business?
The Chamber has a number of advertising opportunities from placing an ad in our directory, newsletter or on our website, as well as sponsorships of our numerous, large community events.
You will also have the opportunity to rent a booth at our Richardson Business Trade Show each year which has over 700 visitors each year as well as advertising opportunities for our Health and Wellness Expo each year.
How can the Chamber help my bottom line?
As a member of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce you will enjoy of number of Member to Member Discounts, printing and shipping group discounts, office supply group discounts and maybe best of all – group insurance rates.
How do I get more involved with the Chamber?
We have a number of committees that we would love for you to become a part of, just consider the options and then let Diana Christensen know which one(s) you would be interested in becoming involved with.
How can I have a voice in the legislation aspect?
The Chamber offers a number of opportunities to connect with politicians and legislative leaders through the Public Affairs Committee, Legislative Day, and the State of the City Address in March of each year.
How can I learn more about the business (atmosphere) in the area?
Our Signature Luncheon and Brown Bag Lunch Series offer you key speakers each month speaking on topics relevant to your business here in Richardson as well as a networking opportunity with high profile attendees.
How can the Chamber help me become an industry leader?
You can send in Industry related articles to be published in our monthly newsletter. You can become involved with the Business and Industry Awards Luncheon which will connect you with the Rotaries as well as other industry professionals. And, you will also have the opportunity to become involved with the Economic Development Partnership that we have created here at the Richardson Chamber. Plus you can become involved with the Richardson Chamber's Leadership Richardson which is a unique opportunity for in depth leadership training for anyone who wants to become more involved in the community.
