RICHARDSON - The Richardson Regional Medical Center Foundation will host its annual
fund-raising gala on Friday, October 19, at the Renaissance Richardson Hotel. Proceeds from
Gala de Saisons will support medical technology, research and clinical programs at both of the
hospital’s locations – the Campbell campus and the Bush/Renner campus, where a new cancer
center and outpatient hospital are currently under construction to serve Wylie, Sachse, Murphy and
surrounding areas. The gala will feature a cocktail reception, seated dinner, and live and silent
auctions.
Last year’s gala raised more than $135,000 to support the not-for-profit hospital, and the
Foundation is hoping to break that record this year. To help reach that goal, the Foundation is
auctioning off vacation getaways, gift certificates, a guitar autographed by Sheryl Crow, and
thousands of dollars in merchandise donated by generous individuals and local merchants. This
year, for the first time, the Foundation has taken the auction to the Web. Some donations are
available for bidding online at www.galadesaisons.cmarket.com in pre-Gala auctions; others will
be sold during the standard silent and/or live auction the evening of the event.
The gala also will feature live music and dancing. Entertainment at this year’s gala will be provided
by The Galen Jeter Orchestra. This twenty piece Dallas-based big band performs music from all
genres and will feature big band and oldies for this event.
Jim and Rhonda Hoyt are serving as this year’s honorary chairs and are long-time Richardson
residents and Bike industry legends. They own and operate Richardson Bike Mart, with locations in
Dallas, Frisco and Richardson. They both share a passion for cycling as well as a passion for giving
back to their community. They support numerous events in the cycling community as well as local
schools in the Metroplex.
The gala chair, Sharon Cole, is an Oklahoma native who now lives in Dallas. She is an active board
member with the Richardson Regional Medical Center Foundation. She is an interior designer and
owns II House Design in Snider Plaza.
“Those of us working on Gala de Saisons want to expand the capability of Richardson Regional
Medical Center to provide the best possible health care for families, friends and neighbors in
Richardson and surrounding communities. You are invited to join us for a fun and entertaining
evening,” said Cole.
